• Advantage: You can see at a glance who is the person you are talking to – interests, appearance etc.

Disadvantage: It is possible that the info you find be inaccurate. Meeting someone in person may change the whole perspective you have on them. You cannot figure out online the things beyond words and emoticons and photos, which cannot reveal you the whole, real person.

Disadvantage: You may end up by realizing the pictures were not real. Some people use other people's pictures in order to attract attention.

• Advantage: People overcome their shyness on the net and may make moves that they never would in person.

Disadvantage: You may get an altered image of their true, offline personality.

• Advantage: Online dating offers you multiple prospects at the same time. Later, you can determine who is worth keeping, or continue to search if necessary.

Disadvantage: In reality, things can be slightly different. You may discover that many of these perspectives are not just what you thought.
